P20SPD 02 September 2004 11:53 AM

Think its 6/7 quid or whatever to get in, then £40 ontop if you wish to run. Unlimited runs too.

Great fun at begining of July when it was pouring down :D

bttt as a final reminder for elvington

Trout 04 September 2004 04:06 PM

I will be there - in car with a boxer engine - but not my Scoob ;)

Andy S. 04 September 2004 04:12 PM

Chris Some Questions for you

Is ther a noise limit?

Do you need race overalls or just a helmet?

Does the car have to be road legal?

Andy S. 04 September 2004 05:14 PM

Going anyway to see what our little 1300cc can do:)

Trout 04 September 2004 07:11 PM

Helmet and a car - thats it!!!

Dont have to be road legal as there are drag cars and stuff

Rannoch :D

Andy S. 04 September 2004 07:21 PM

Got the helmet, the car is on the trailer ready to go:)

Must find the post code to find elvington

Had fun today only managed amid 13's run but not bad considering a non working diff:mad:

And the wrong gearing onlly hitting 3rd gear at the end of the 1/4

Changed the gaers and then the drive shaft went pop LOL

Awsome white scooby doing 11's not far off the fastest 1/4 for a scooby ever!

Awd Chaddy 06 September 2004 12:14 PM

Was that the one "popping" loud enough to set off world war three? It certainly seemed pretty quick. I tend to look for the times from Steve in the metallic red scooby classic wagon as a gauge of a quick time.

One of the weirdest things was the gold coloured Skyline which seemed to be set in rear wheel drive given the amount of wheel slip when changing gear - even up to third!!! Does anybody know why it was doing that?

P20SPD 06 September 2004 12:24 PM

Paul (White LOUD scoob) ran a 10.9 in the end, which is excellent, and makes him the 2nd fastest scoob in the UK.

I ran a 12.2 in the end, still having technical problems though.

There are 2 types of skylines, GTS (rear wheel drive) and GTR (AWD), it could have been a GTS, although reading the skyline forum, i thought it was a GTR.

peccy 06 September 2004 01:12 PM

what and who holds the record P20spd?

P20SPD 06 September 2004 01:23 PM

Andy F with his Sti5 Type R.

The record yesterday morning was 10.76 IIRC which was set at TOTB3, whilst we were at Elvington, Andy was at Crail, and ran a 10.52 (with nitrous this time).

There has been a 10.85 done in the UK with a Scoob also at TOTb3, but that belongs to Gulli, who is based in Iceland.

Andy S. 06 September 2004 09:37 PM

Yes it was the noisey White one with anti lag. did not realise he did a 10.9 bloody quick!

We were in the Silver/grey Sports car with a non functioning experimntal diff LOL
would not set off the line with out spinning only 1 wheel once it gripped it flew but every thing else was half way up the track our terminal speed where good though 107mph not bad on a 13.7 run lol, only in 3rd gear though. Drive shaft was the second one we have broke in only a week and a half:mad:

In ten years of building cars we have never broke one before (I think corners were cut!)

Hopefully next time we will have a functioning diff and correct gear ratios and try and chase the skylines:)

That's a nice looking car you have, I wondered why it wasn't posting faster times than me, I was going to come and talk to you but every time I was passing you all looked busy/confused/frustrated ;)

And Paul doesn't have anti-lag, it's the Staging Rev Limiter on his MSD ignition - to quote the manual:

The Soft Touch circuitry provides a smooth and accurate rev limit by dropping the spark on individual cylinders
Smooth and accurate that's just how it sounds.

Andrew...Reddish Blue Wagon 13.17@105 on my first outing :D

AndrewC 06 September 2004 10:02 PM

and we talked to the owner/driver of the gold coloured GTR R32 which I personally thought was one of the nicest skylines I've seen.

The only mechanical changes he claimed were turbo (Monster Greddy), exhaust and ECU, std engine including injectors, but it's putting out around 600bhp :o Interior is completely stripped with more guages than I could count, also running cut slicks and the reason he could do burnouts was a front brake locker valve.

Andrew...

I only got the Anti lag off the commentator LOL:)

You should have come over I always look like that LOL

Think we ahould have been posting low 12 possibly 11's but it was not to be!

The Porsche driver did a double take as I piped him on the line I gave him several car lengths start and the caught him just before the line:)

Had no idea what to do on the start line as well 1st time for me drag racing LOL
Best reaction time was 3's LOL

Good fun day though all the same, Clive (mate on the Hayabusa with nitrous) did 200.9mph flyer Cool and a 10.2s 1/4 :freak3:

Our car is a DJ Firecat see www.djracecars.com It is mine and a mates company producing sports cars and Single seaters. The car is the prototype and is 5years old now still on its origional busa engine. The competition versions of the firecat have been clocked at 2.9secs to 60 so we should be doing better times than we did. But we had a new diff unit on that we are testing for the manfacturers of the diff. The slip was not working at all as the car was dredful at putting the power down. But she does look nice though, diff unit has been sent back today for "Tweaking"
