Care off Yoza the watchmeister. boy am i well chuffed. wanted one of these babies for ages now, and Yoza's came up at the right time for an excellent price, just couldn't resist anymore.

Im glad he has gone to a good home. :)

Upon getting him back from the jewellers, after his clean and polish, I looked at him sat on his cussion, and thought, " Oh no, I dont want to sell him now. " :(

I was hoping your cheque was going to bounce. :rolleyes:

He had to go though, every time I opened my safe I could hear him calling out, flickering his big illuminous hands in the darkness, but he was always waydown on the selection list. He only had a few outing hence his condition.

I would give him a little shake, then put him back......

He relied on me to keep his little heart beating, and it was unfair to keep him in a state of 'coma' in a dark floor safe.

He always fancied a trip the the Emerald Isle, so I know he will be happy. :)

Tell him his friends say hello, and wish him well, especially Mr GMT MasterII who lived above him, and his good friends JupitorPilot, and ExplorerII who lived next door.

Look after him, he likes a soapy bath on a Sunday, and loves it when you scrub his back with a toothbrush.......Ill have to go now, there is a lump in my throat. :(

no probs mate, he will be well looked after. my only problem is getting an Omega dealer in Belfast (for servicing, removing links etc). We only have one AFAIK and they charge a full prices for everything. very difficult to get discount. do you know of any omega dealers that do a mail order service for the above?

Any reputable dealer or WatchDoctor will remove a link for you, all they need is a ' pin type link removal tool ', they will do it while you wait. ( £7ish )

The tool is quite common, Ive even got one.

The links are held together with a pin, which can be pushed out from one side of the strap to the other. The pin is wedged/ conical ', ie bigger one end than the other, so it will only come out one way. Also when the pin is removed the inner link has a bearing in each shoulder, (more like a tube than a bearing). I wouldnt advise you do it yourself...

As for service, dont bother, leave well enough alone. The watch has had very little use, it doesnt need a service.

If you look closely at the back of the watch @ 6 o'clock you will see a small red dot (between the case back, and the watch case), this is a security seal, it shows if the back has been off the watch for any reason. Yours as you can see, is in tact.

Better to leave it like that.

Its the first thing I look at when buying second wrist Omega.

must admit on some of the other threads about watches they don't look that good, (a bit old fashioned) imo
but if you an enthusiast or a loony ;)(yoza) then i suppose every detail matters,

keep it safe bigsinky or you might just hear a knock on your door from someone sobbing ;-)

Just had a squint at my speedmaster, i never noticed that before. I have the dot on the case, but there's nothing on the watch back for it to line up with.

Does it just 'flake off' if the back is removed?

As for the red dot, its a pin prick size blob of dark red resin, and it runs between the seal of the case, and the watch body itself.

If its not there, its been opened.

If your SpeedMaster has a plastic face, look closely at the centre of the face, there is a tiny Omega sign engraved under the face.

There is one on my MoonWatch and I was unaware of it.

Anyone want to buy Milan Baros's FrankMuller....?

I have exactly the same watch. For the last six years it has rarely been off my wrist apart from a service ( like now :( ). I wear it for diving & at work as well & it puts up with lots of abuse. It has a few marks on the bezel but the glass is spotless & it has been faultless.
I don't regret buying one for a second :)

Yup, it's got that. I didn't know about the dot though when i bought it.

Fortunately i bought mine from an authorised dealer so didn't have to worry about it being a fake. I'd be much more cautious if i was buying 2nd hand.

took the watch to a guy in a Belfast jewellers who was recommended by a friend who is like yourself and has a sizeable collection of watches.the guy only had to remove 1 link. watch now fits perfectly. he removed the link in front of me and you could see the care and attention to detail that he took. better than taking it to some spotty plonker in H Samuel without a doubt. the guy in the shop was wearing a Patek :eek: OMG I think you could be right about the bug, i am walking around town now looking at everyone's wrists :D

Its a standing joke at the moment, I can be watching a film, and the camera will flash to the actors watch, and I will reel off what it is.

It happens all the time, music awards, general TV, films etc.

I know how many genuine Breitlings are currently for sale on E-bay, and will get up at daft hours to see what they went for.

Any spare cash, and ' not so spare cash ' goes on watches.

When out and about Im like a ' watch spotter ', last night being a prime example, whilst in the company of a gang of footballers, I was checking out their watches...FFS. :cuckoo:

I own 26 watches, the ones that live at home I will get out once a week and put them in their boxes ( the boxes wont fit in the safe :rolleyes: ). I set the times and dates were needed, and give the autos a shake, then just look at them.

When Im off out, I take ages to select a watch to wear. :cuckoo:

Very nice, I think I have dropped one by telling the wife the only watch I really like is the Tag Monza, looking forward to seeing that on my credit card statement around christmas!!
