Data recovery help needed
 

I recently had my hard disk die on my Apple G4 Cube just as I was about to back up and wondered if anyone knows of a good but inexpensive data recovery company. I've been quoted £500 to recover the contents of a 20Gb drive which as its for my car club is more than we can afford.

If anyone has any recommendations I'd be ever so grateful, ideally in the London or home counties

Probably stating the obvious here, my apologies Allan. But have you tried Disk Warrior?

Only £60 and I have heard of people on forums getting very good results with it.

Oh its worse than that the mechnaism itself is damaged and it clicks away like a clicking thing

I've had great experiences with VOGON (google) when work's raid array on the exchange server died.

Not the cheapest in the world, but it depends on how valuable your data is to you.

Funnilly enough thats the company one of my Mac gurus highly recommended
