Belkin adsl wireless router + wanadoo.....
Been trying to set up a Belkin router/modem for a friend so she can use her laptop/ADSL wirelessly around her house. No other computers involved in the network.
Once I shutdown zonealarm I managed to actually access the router setup program and establish the wireless connection however I can't for the life of me make the modem dial out. It asks for all manner of settings that i just cannot find from wanadoo or on web. The unit is a Belkin F5D7630uk4A. If anyone has set one of these up I really would appreciate the settings...... Page 1 of Wizard
Connection type: PPPoA Page 2 Username/Password: As supplied by Wanadoo VPI: 0 VCI: 38 All of the WAN/DNS settings etc should be provided automatically once connection is established. If connection to the net still not possible, check the IP address allocated to the laptop by the router. Should be 192.168.2.x (probably 192.168.2.2) If anything else, especially one starting 169. then it is not connecting properly. If possible, connect using a CAT5 cable to test connectivity to the web, then once you know that works get the wireless connection working. HTH |
If you're getting the computer talking with the router and if the router is lit up showing an adsl line - check the setup page to be sure that you've got the correct user name and password. I spent ages the other day when I changed routers figuring this obvious one out!
