airlocks in cooling?

HEEELLLLPPP Please !!

my scooby runs fine, until it gets around 80 miles on it, or run rather hard, and then if the revs drop below 3000rpm, I get a soaring temp gauge, should the revs lift above 3000rpm, the temp drops almost instantly back to normal.

while the temp is high, the heater doesn't work, no flow through the matrix, with the revs up it does.....

went to power engineering (great guys by the way), and they did a chemical test and pressure check and all passed ok, then the coolant system took 2 litres of fluid - a big air lock. all seemed fine for a while, then after about 35 miles or so, the problem came back....

any ideas guys/gals???
your help would be appreciated as I'm looking down the double barrells of a £5800+vat engine rebuild......

do I get a total drain and refil of coolant?? help me oh-be-wan you're my only hope......

More than likely to still be an airlock...........

Faulty waterpump? Runs fine at higher rpm but insufficient at lower?

Cheap start:

Change the thermostat. cost is £12 or so for genuine Scooby parts.
