Different Diffs on STi5 gearbox v MY99

As above. Are the diffs different on a STi5 gearbox compared to a UK99?

Straight swap possible without changing diffs?

All comments appreciated.

you'll have a 3.9 front, 3.54 rear and a 1.1/1 drop gear in the viscous...........................V5 will have 4.44 all round and 1/1 drop gear so not exactly straight swap..................
depends what you are trying to achieve???

Just want to swap to a new box as the STiv5 seems to be stronger than uk boxes.

Thats it really. Are the boxes a straight swap?

no, as above you will have the wrong front diff ratio.......................at the least you will need to swap the front diff ration and also the centre viscous to match your UK car...............not particuarly hard job!!

no, only the front diff. ratio would need to be swapped if you wished to leave the rest of the car as now..........................just use your UK centre diff. on the back of the exchange box.....................

*obviously after swapping the front diff to suit.............

otherwise you would need to swap rear diff also if you wish a more rear biased set-up using a JDM spec 1.1 centre...............
