Help...What Turbo..
 

I have a UK Spec Imprezza running the standard Turbo...

Does anyone know what turbo these cars come fitted with?

First , there is only one Z in impreza -

Second - IIRC, you have a UK 98my ? - If so, its a TD04 Turbo.... In fact, if its a classic, from 97my (inclusive) to 00my, its a TD04 - Earlier cars have the larger TD05 (As standard) ;)

Checked with a Dealer...they say its an IHI Turbo....? Is that still a TDO4..?

Sam, what car is it - I thought it was a 98, but I'm only going from memory (having never actually seen it.....)

Mine is a 1998 model....

UK 98 is defo TD04 (I just removed and sold mine....) IHI IIRC is STi spec.... (Not sold in UK in classic form - from Subaru anyhow... ;) )

How did you identify the Turbo?

Its stamped on a plate on the front of the turbo...may need to rub away some of the crap to read it though (silver end on turb not rusty end).

I have a TD04 available if you need one.

I am after a TD05....but wanted to check what i had...

Cheem motors say that its uses the same turbo as the Imports...IHI Turbo...

I cant see anything stamped on the top, looks like it may be on the underside.

Only if it's standard. Previous owner could easily have swapped to a vf28 or something.

Better look for yourself.

Cheem saying 'they run...' is a bit worrying too - rather than 'yours runs'....
