AM Virage Lynx Turbo - David Brown needs one?

Have a look at http://www.duncanhamilton.com under Sports and Competition cars...crikey
Built by Lynx in 2002, this highly modified Virage is now powered by a 7 litre turbo charged version of the original 5.3 litre unit. Power output is 725 bhp at 4000 rpm with peak torque a staggering 1,150 lb/ft at 3,100 rpm

Lovely - but the best car is the one below it and only £675,000 as well.....

1996 McLaren F1 GTR 16R
Ex-Bigazzi works team car run for BMW Motorsport in Fina and BMW colours. Raced by Piquet, Soper, Laffite and Duez. Silverstone 4th & Pole, Le Mans 11th. The car has now been homologated and licensed to run on the road but maintained externally and internally as a race car. Rare opportunity to acquire one of only four race F1 GTRs that can be used on the road.
Er. Licenced for the road.

I've driven a Virage a number of times the one I'm on about had the vantage bodywork and suspesion and engine upgrade.

It has to the most awful, and disapointing sheds I have ever driven - yes, I'm serious, it is that bad.

I used to drool over Astons, especially Vantages, now I just point and snigger. Beautiful look cars (virage with vantage bodywork and the bigest and widest factory Avez split rim wheels I have ever seen). Powerwise - it NEEDS the 7litre turbo. The one I drove had the 6.3 conversion, and it was still underpowered. Brakes are worse than a series II land rover with brake fade. Did handle quite well, but it was hard work, no fun at all.

One of those cars to look at, but not to drive I'm afraid :( (may explain why you can pick up a virage for as little as £30K...bit of a drop from the £135K+ new prices)

As a note, technically minded Cosworth nuts may find it amusing to know that it has two Weber Maralli ECU's...one to control each bank of 4 cylinders - two of everything. Truely bizzare!

Saw this car in a magazine a while ago. Meant to be a bit quick ;)

There is a twin turbo F50 there as well by Koenig, 820BHP!! F'ing mental

Even an AM Virage Lynx Turbo isn't going to help David Brown where he is now.

Or are we talking about the gisajob DB, rather than the AM DB? ;)
