New Lights! BUT YaY or Nay...

Just fitted some near rear lights, as I feel the bug eye rear's are not as nice as the current shape.

I tried not to get they Max Power Lexus Light Look. I've tried to make it look as unchanged as possible. :norty:

I must admit I'm not 100% sure with the results. So what do you guys think?

They are easy enough to take off, so time for a vote!

pippyrips 18 August 2004 12:27 PM

can hardly see a difference! although i take it they are now clear??

i've bee nthinking about putting some of the new back ligts in my bugeye but i think you either would need to change the bumper or at least cut into it - has anyone done this yet?

Wurzel 18 August 2004 12:28 PM

TBH the difference is so minute unless you actually see them on a car parked next to an unmodified on then you probably wouldn't notice. You might aswell keep em if your happy with them.

Nevetas 18 August 2004 12:32 PM

So Far so good. The Look I was trying to get was for people not to screem, Ewwwwwwwwww Lexus Lights! :D :D

Indeed that's what I was going to do, but cutting into the bumper didn't sound to good!

Yes they are now clear.

messiah 18 August 2004 12:33 PM

Crystal lenses?

looks quite good actually - My mouse was hovering over the "Halfords" option :D

and how much did that upgrade cost?

Nevetas 18 August 2004 12:53 PM

£200, plus a few quid for fitting, as I'm useless at fitting thing like this!!

BAH 18 August 2004 12:56 PM

There not that for away from looking OE on the the newer cars...

Nevetas 18 August 2004 12:59 PM

Good stuff :D That's the look I was trying to get :)

Nathan L 18 August 2004 01:11 PM

Much better, have seen these in the flesh on other cars and the more 'lexus' look suits the lines of the car better IMHO.

talizman 18 August 2004 01:15 PM

Look just like blobeye rear clusters IMO.

Nevetas 18 August 2004 01:18 PM

Excellant stuff, looks like I achieved the look I was after :)

Thanks Guys :D

DJ Dunk 18 August 2004 04:12 PM

Look ok to me :thumb: but then again I do drive a Sport :lol1:

Nice and clean looking.... crystal I assume.

Simon :)

I like them alot, you will have to let us all know how they go regarding water ingress, how well the lenses are sealed. Nothing makes a set of aftermarket lights look worse than a load of condensation :o

Nevetas 18 August 2004 11:03 PM

No worries. Will keep you posted :)

DJ Dunk 19 August 2004 09:19 AM

Where are your silver indicator bulbs from mate ?

Very nice...
Probably the first thread I've read on Scoobynet that's been 100% positive with no flaming ;)

Nevetas 19 August 2004 11:16 AM

Indeed, I'm shocked!! :D

scoobchrissy 19 August 2004 02:36 PM

very / very nice, i like :D

DR Motorsport 19 August 2004 03:22 PM

Keep them.

I've had them on my 2002 JDM STi for nearly 2 years now, and haven't had any problems with condensation.
Changed the orange indicators bulb to a Philips Silver version.

Yes i really do like the new lights. they are more inkeeping with ur scoobs styling and they don't give that expression "i want my car to look like a Lexus...". i really do like em'
