idle air control solenoid location

Can anyone help me out with the location of the idle air control solenoid on a MY98 UK Turbo please? I've got ECU code 24, which points to this - I'm just not sure exactly where/what it is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mounted on the top right of the intake manifol, slightly to the right of the dumpvalve.
From memory it's a white plastic thing which is mounted using 2 small screws in slotted holes and has a 2 or 4 wire connector on it.

It works on magnetism, so may need a tug to pull off.......

Hi TJG. Are you getting or had any problems with the car ideling badly? The thing is i have an idle problem and I think that the idle valve is the problem. This thing has been cleaned several times recently and it makes no difference at all. It seems they are rare to go wrong though and the problem with the idle tends to always be a maf problem but I have changed the maf and still have the problem. The only other thing it could be for me is maybe a lamda sensor. Good luck mate.

disconnect the lambda, see if that helps. You can drive without the lamda connected as it takes ages to throw up the check engine light (code 31).

cheers Scott.t i tried that tonight going home and it made no difference, But does it make a difference if you start the car with the lamda disconnected or disconnect after the engine has been run for a bit?
