What form of ID do you require for internal Flights?

Will be going to London to pick up the missus new car in September. We've got an airport here in Plymouth that does internal flights to gatwick £8 cheaper than a standard train ticket and gets you there 2 hours sooner!
Just wondering what sort of id you require for the flight? Surely not a passport (?) but I guess you need something.
What

All carriers are different.
Phone/check website of said carrier - it should tell you.

Ahhh :thumb: Thought it would be the same rule for all. Thanks for that.

they normally need some kind of photo id.....so passport is probably the best.

Or modern driving license.

Usually it has to do with whether or not the airports segregate domestic and international passengers and is not the decision of the carrier alone. If, for example Gatwick doesn't segregate domestic passengers, then you will need a passport.

As said, check websites. Ryanair are one of the strictest, so beware.

As for

I bet it doesn't, when you calculate door to door journey - for the flight you will have to factor in getting to the airport and parking, from it the other end to the dealer plus whilst at the airport check in, security and departure - many airports are minimum check in closure 40 mins before departure etc.

I've driven to and from the Alps many times, and even from there I can drive it in only about 4 hours longer than flying, on a door to door journey comparison :)
