How not to make friends at Scooby-SOX

How not to make friends at Scooby-SOX

I know Steve R: runs the website, and can do what he likes, but no need to be like this to me and others?

Perhaps he is having a bad day ?

Perhaps its just me being silly & obnoxious ?

Please tell me, did I really ask for it?

I did call him M8 and LOL

This means M8 = Mate
And LOL = means Laughed Out Loud.

Hurricane Charlie in a tea cup mate - wouldnt worry :)

S.B. 14 August 2004 11:12 AM

WTF is scooby mum and dad all about

Ajax 14 August 2004 11:30 AM

S.B.:

Easy answered, I was given this nick by SHESCOOBY I think and tiny01: Essex regional organiser precipitated it.

Think it’s was because of my age, probably nearer grandfather really LOL, also my dear lady wife attends most of the meetings, so there you have it.

Scooby Mum & Dad

Ajax the name comes from the Ship my M8 at work served on and he used it as a password.

Sorry to disappoint it’s not the Greek Hero Ajax or perhaps the daddy of all Scoobys.

Richard Askew: You are prolly right.

Just wondered if I had been unreasonable, reality check needed

Ajax

S.B. 14 August 2004 12:08 PM

Thanks for the explanation :D

Ajax 14 August 2004 12:35 PM

S.B. No Problem

Just returned to Scooby SOX, just got my first and final warning from Steve R: as a PM.

Very strange if you as me, have I done something so bad?

Steve R 14 August 2004 12:45 PM

I couldnt have advertised the club better if Id tried :) Thanks Paul

Bit like the stars when they create bad press to get attention, except they do it themselves LMAO

Kevin Groat 14 August 2004 12:58 PM

Ajax, if you got a first and final warning for those threads I'd just keep well clear of the site - I frequent a lot of boards and it's only when you see the content and management on some of the others that you appreciate the likes of SNET and 22B.

No problem Steve R:

Nice to see that we are still talking,

All the threads that I start on SCOOBY-SOX you keep locking out, makes conversation a bit difficult.

Just thought I would mention your site again to keep you happy.

Anyway To ask the question again for the third time, but slightly rephrased.

Do you want to go to donny south Sunday 15th August 2004 ??????? its not far.

Ajax 14 August 2004 01:13 PM

Kevin Groat:

Never had a problem with any forum before,

I like Steve R: He is a really nice bloke
He owns Scooby – SOX, ahh I mentioned it again, it’s a really good site.

Just think I hit a raw nerve, not sure what it was even to this date.

StickyMicky 14 August 2004 01:57 PM

IMO you asked for it

would you ask simon or shaun to go and find sumthing for you because you couldnt be arsed to look for it?

Ajax 14 August 2004 02:18 PM

StickyMicky:

I see your point
But to put it in context, I was replying in a conversation with Steve.

Not asking an off the wall question.

The reply was:::

Steve R:

ummmmm Paul..youll find there is already a thread by Simon the organiser on here (FMS)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Steve R:

Hello Steve M8, care to point a bit harder, so that I can find the Alton thread, Then I can add my name to your list for the convoy with you all to Alton.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++
StickyMicky:

So to answer the question, if I was in conversation to either simon or shaun, about a subject I would not find it unreasonable to request a pointer to something that they previously knew about.

And like wise I would do the same for them.

As for being arsed to look for something, most forums would have a future events page or national / club events or something like that

Scooby SOX has

Events and a section on Meets

And where do you think it was under Meets, it was in the section - May be of interest.

This is not logical, or intuitive

So I mentioned it, and nearly got banned

sKunk 14 August 2004 04:15 PM

Reads like a gay handbag fight to me.

Steve R 14 August 2004 04:18 PM

You forget to mention Ajax, that I replied and told you the right section to look in, beofre this. So only half the story doesnt work does it

T_J 14 August 2004 05:51 PM

So the info about a meet that wasn't regular was in the meets section...(but not the "regular" bit) sounds completely insane to me ;)

Why would i want to ask again, if you told me.

If this was the case as you say,why was a final threat of banning given out over a misunderstanding?

Dont know why you have got it in for me.

The threat of a ban is to stop the possibility of this sort of crap happening. It was said to you after you started spamming forums with it. Grow up

BedHog 14 August 2004 11:07 PM

Most forums are great, but you'll always find a few run by little Hitlers - 'I'm the admin I can do what I like......'

Just avoid it :)

micared 14 August 2004 11:44 PM

Looking forward to meeting members of that forum at Alton more and more, especially if you'll be going public with the handbags...... :)

Seeing your comments here was enough. I see you're feeling a bit insecure with all your retaliation, eh?

If you wan't a quiet easy life run a forum for Nissan Micra's (hmm forget that, the women on the advert looks scary :))

Steve R 15 August 2004 12:06 AM

Im not insecure, Im finding it quite funny that an old man can get like this when we are always being told to respect our elders LOL

Im married, i know how scarey women can be too LOL especially when like mine, they are also scooby owners and as hot headed as the cars themselves ;):P

Ajax 15 August 2004 12:12 AM

BedHog: Steve R: does not seem very happy, I suspect at this stage it might be more than something I originally said.

Please leave him alone!

As I said on many occasions on here, he is a very nice bloke, and I mean that, and other will agree.

Just could not understand why the original threat to ban reaction, so I asked on a couple of other boards.

Is it me, or what?

I do hope Steve forgives me, for what I am not to sure.

you sure its not scooby sux? i wouldnt go onto this site if I was paid.

lets start an anti scooby sux debate: no one will visit this pants site from now on :D lol

instead they will all come here and argue

jamo :D

Neilo 15 August 2004 11:18 AM

To be honest Jamo mate...what would you be doing on an Oxfordshire forum when you live in derbyshire? :D

I think that all has been said on this that needs to be said, so this should probably be locked. At the end of the day were all here because we are enthusiasts of the cars, theres no need to get personal about anything, its just not worth it. Whats done is done, now lets move on.

Just me 2p

Neil.
