Hello
You should be okay, it's going past Florida. And airplanes do not fly through Hurricanes ... http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...=519&ncid=1112 Steve. |
Keep your head down Si. You could do a bit of windsurfing for a real thrill.

Next Tropical Depression Has Formed As if there hasn't been enough tropical weather this week, forecasters are now having to pay attention to a new system over the Atlantic. Tropical Depression Four formed Friday morning in the far eastern Atlantic. It is centered at latitude 12.2 north, longitude 22.7 west, or about 275 miles south-southeast of the Cape Verde Islands. It is moving to the west at about 14 mph, meaning it's 10 days or so from threatening any land areas. But strengthening is expected, and it could be a tropical storm by Friday night. Top sustained winds are near 35 mph. Si |
The end is nigh

When you get there Si, don't forget to tell the Yanks that its all their fault for being the worst polluters of the world.

p.s. the us may be the worst polluters overall but only cos theres so many people there compared to england. id suspect that england is just as bad on a per-person pollution level. |
What yanks??
In florida there is no yanks :p |
My Dads flight was cancelled today coz Sanford had a blackout  but its back on tommorrow. He phoned a friend (motel owner) in Kissimmee this morning to ask what it was like.
He said Kissimmee was packed out with "refugees" and it was gridlock everywhere. The keys got it bad and all tourists were evaced away from the storm. President Bush is visiting tommorrow to declare it a disaster zone. :( On previous experience it will take around two weeks to get back to a sense of normality and everyone moves back home. You have to remember that these people aren't now interested in serving your coffee at the moment. They're more interested in safety and sorting their lives out. That said, it is only the keys that was effected with some degree (tourist hot spots). Kissimmee has only had the domino effect of people moving away from the DZ to safety. If you are going in a week then you "should" be okay but then again there are another two hurricanes which have the potential to fall on land :( I'm sure you'll be okay, by the time you get there, there should only be minor probs you'll have to cope with :) |
si,
Well if you make it and the weather is $hit, find an internet cafe and I'll whup yr ass at couronne (as normal ;)) Gary |
