18's for MY03 WRX

Hi,

I'm looking into getting some 18's for my wrx and was wondering if I'll have problems interms of arch clearence and scrubbing. What size tyres would be best? Also, will it affect the handling of the car much (I'm running on standard suspension). At the mo I quite fancy the oz superlegs. Any one had problems with these on 18's?

cheers

18's are fine on the MY03 WRX, they will not affect the ride quality and will make the steering feel more precise.

The ideal tyre size is 225/40/ZR18.

Stick to Goodyear Eagle F1's or Toyo Proxes T1-S or T1-R in my humble opinion.

Nathan..

There is an issue with 225s where MY03 wagons are concerned, especially when lowered (eibach or Prodrive springs).

Mine rubs on the drivers side (but why only the drivers side ffs:cuckoo: )

Saloon should be fine with the tyres recommended above.

Have you been somewhere like TSL for geo?

Can that not be adjusted out? I know the track is slightly narrower but not by that much :Suspiciou

mine is a WRX03, with 18" superlegs, and with prodrive springs. No problems at all. In fact prodrive recommend 18" wheels with their PPP.

I think issues were only with classic shapes?

Prodrive WRC 1 18" here too with Toyo 225/40/18. Look on Subaru UK site under accessories for the WRX03 and it shows you the wheel/tyre package.

Andy.

Nathan, I am guessing, and hoping, that increasing the neg camber on the rear should sort it. It's done it since day 1, I've just never got round to sorting it.
