hmmmm don't agree with Nirvana being in the top 10, think they are incredibly over-rated.
Metallica deserve to be in the top 5, even though the last album was a pile of ****e they are still my fav band of all time, mainly thanks to the older albums. |

If its "rock" band shouldn't the likes of Queen, Aerosmith and Pink Floyd be placed above the likes of the Sex Pistols.
After all they were much more a sustained success over the years Agree with Led Zepp at #1 but Iron Maiden at #24 WTF :confused: Spose its just each to their own :) |

IMHO, with the exceptions of Soundgarden and Nirvarna I can't reallly fault the top 20 - mainly down to what I like to listen to.
What you do have to take into account is what makes a band/artist great? In this context I reckon that Influence on others, Longevity and Size of the fan base are 3 key factors, not what some music journalist reckons. I am not a big fan of nirvana and they were only around for a couple of years but they had massive influence on the industry and the other groups since then. Anyway, you are all wrong - Aerosmith should have been #1 ;) |
