According to the BBC they'd been previously been attacked by gunmen at their old home. It seems this time they were aware of someone sneaking around near their house.


Good job the prowler/killer wasn't speeding, or they'd have been there in a flash and caught him. :rolleyes:


Tragic. Police, egg, face?

I heard that the couple didn't report the prowler to the local police, which may account for the amount of time before police arrived.

You'd think that if these poor people had already been threatened by a gunman that they'd be given police protection? What A sh*thole of a country we live in. The police must know who the killers are!! Doubt they'll catch 'em, too busy dishing out speeding tickets!

Do remember, there's lot of parents of convicted killers in the UK.

Yes, obviously there was a previous incident here, but unless you have close protection teams assigned to ALL the close relatives of killers, don't know how much can be prevented. Pretty rare for someone to go after the PARENTS of killers....

Presumably they didn't have special protection as the risk was deemed low?

As per usual, far to easy to blame the police. 7 hours or 7 minutes....would it have saved them? Who knows.

Funny, that. I speed every time I go out in the car or on the bike, as, I suspect, every other driver does. Every time - might only be 2mph here or there, but will be as much as 20 mph in a 60 or 70 zone.

I've been driving and riding for 22 years now, and have been caught precisely three times.

So much for the persecution of drivers.

So if the government are right - you must have crashed numerous times and killed huge numbers of people then?? Or maybe exceeding a speed limit actually has bugger all to do with road safety?

Ok maybe speeding was a bad example. But the point is, they'd been attacked previously with firearms and been forced to move house.

The police are aware of this and still take 7 hours to respond to a call about someone snooping around their house.

This isn't a police bashing thread in general, just that this incident IMHO is pretty shocking.

I believe the police are more interested in motorists than real criminals though as i have been stopped countless times for the routine check!!

We have had to phone the police due to an ongoing problem with a stupid neibour and they either dont turn up or come 4 hours later for all they know there could be a life at risk but they dont seem to care

Before you lot starting slinging accusations and police bashing it's just been on my local news again, apparently the lady who made the phone call to the Police asked them specifically not to come out to her house. According to the Police they were killed shortly after she made that phone call.

why did she phone them then was she nuts ?

Can't believe it can take seven hours to send a copper round, especially after the Notts police contacted the Lincoln police about it. They must have given the full story during the phone call.

They should have been under police guard, maybe the police will learn and put the other family members under guard.
IMO this is not the last killing in this affair.

Looks like the couple specifically did not want to draw attention to themselves & reported a prowler from the previous night. They asked that the police only interview the neighbour who saw the prowler. Looks like a lack of joined-up policing again though (eg Soham).

Hey, my penisoner mother rang local police to report an incident and they told her they were too busy to talk to her but could she write them a letter!!

I'll Btt this thread and give you the real story later. Lets just say though that shouting at the victims parents in court and telling them how there son looked like a donut when he was shot in the head was not the wisest thing to do.

nothing would have saved these people from this,it was a proffesional hit in revenge for what their son did...end of story,it wont go no further unless their son is a some sort of big time charlie.
