drivetrain losses?
Yesterday I got my car dynoed. It seems results are quite ridiculous. Since I've a stock MY98 Impreza Turbo and the engine power should be around 218hp, the dyno sheet shows +25 hp(243hp). In addition to this, it shows 85hp power losses. Is it possible to lose 85 hp on wheels since its a AWD car. I've no problems with drivetrain.
Here is the dyno sheet: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...an/dyno009.jpg Lets clear out this... Engine Power: 178.6 KW@5906RPM (242.7 HP) Wheel Horsepower: 115.8 KW (157.4 HP) Power Losses: 62.3 KW (85.3 HP) Real Power: 216.4 KW (294.1 HP) [DIN70020 rule] ===> I really dont know what this value shows? Max Torque:325.3 NM 4016 g/m (151.4 km/h) Transmission Ratio: 1.0:1 Final Reduction: 2.9 [dyno detects automatically. (fifth gear ratio) 0.738 X 3,9(final reduction) =2,8782 )] Here is the manufacturer specs of my car: 218 HP (160 kW) at 5600 rpm 290 Nm at 4000 rpm All datas are here in DIN europe standard. Measure at 101.3kPa and 20°C. Rated in hp (ps). 1kW = 1.360hp (DIN). So I don't know how do I gain +25hp on my car. Drivetrain loses seems too much, isn't it? I dont know if I should trust this dyno. Any input would be appreciated. ps: I've a catted Blitz Nür spec R muffler(not catback or turboback) and walbro fuel pump. I dont think so that they had affected the performance of my car. |
does AWD eats power? any input?
