Advice on brake pads - 4pots STi6 typeR

I need new front pads. Not sure whats on the car at the moment. Pedal feel is very sharp - probably due to the braded hoses. Discs are grooved.

I've had Ferodo DS2500 in the past on a previous car and was very impressed with their lack of overheating/fading compared to standard pads.
Any advice on what to go for and where to buy from?

thanks

Nick

A couple of good pads about, Ferodo DS2500, Mintex 1155, Pagid 4.2.1 ( blues? ).

Range of prices, it's said the pagids are the best all round just beating the ferodos, some make a lot of brake dust on the wheels though and may squeal, so it's down to your own preference from comments on here and elsewhere.

Good cold feel and use, and fade resistance to hard use are important of course!

ASPerformance.co.uk keep most in stock and good prices, used them myself and very helpful.

I just ordered from Camsport too. :)

I couldn't believe the price. Give them a call

I suspect he's forgotten to add VAT on or something but they'd still be cheap even with VAT added on.

In my opinion EBC are w0nk! I had the greenstuff pads that warped a set of disks, so I tried their turbo disks and redstuff pads combo. In feel they weren't any better than OEM.

This was on a 94MY UK Prodrive edition car and it didn't have braided hoses, so they may have helped.

I am currently using DS2500 on Godspeed 335mm kit, with braided hoses on my Type R v6 V-LTD and they are much better.

Housequake,

Did you have the old Reds or the new Red Ceramics ?

Green Stuff should not be fitted to a Scoob, also the old Reds were SH!T.
The Reds Ceramics are good. Have had all three on MY 96 UK Turbo.

Red.

Red Rocket, I had the original green stuff pads and then red stuff along with the turbo disks, not ceramic.
