Hi Terry

Walldonway in Larkfield looked after my '95 1.8GL for 8 years (and 120k faultless miles), always found them to be reliable, courteous and generally helpful, on that car it was £100+ for an interim, little more than an oil change and general health check. undoubtedly they are not cheap but on the other hand I never felt ripped off when they replaced blown bulbs etc. loan car for £8 per day (last time I had one) but need to book well ahead

Upgraded to MY04 WRX from them in Jan :) which goes in for 10k service next week and am expected to pay a bit more, will let you know

Re Walldonway

As above, I bought my WR1 from them (35 miles away) rather than my nearest dealer (1 mile away) think that says it all !!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, walldonway is ok in my book too:) bought 2 scoobs from there and have been serviced thru them for 4 years now.

the service/parts boys seem pretty ok and now they've got their own building separate from the showroom they seem a bit chattier aswell:) always a bonus:D

Waldonway wanted to charge me £200 for the interim service on my MY98, so I took it to Xtreme who charged me £89 all in for exactly the same service....needless to say I won't be using Waldonway again ;)

Change the oil yourself ;)

really? how did they justify that? i thought top whack was about £150?

i did get a bit of a sting on my last service too, maybe they've put the prices up to accomodate that big new showroom? (or to subsidse the TVR breakdowns;))

i think in a nutshell walldoway seem fine for the service side of things, just don't expect a deal when it comes to the bill.

edit:- by the way, they use magnatec oil (at least they did on my last service) which is a bit **** aparently. buy your own, get a better oil in your car and bring the bill down aswell:)

Don't know about price but I can recommend Waldonway. Had three problems with my 03 Sti that the last garage failed to rectify. Knocking from rear nearside quarter (shocker replaced), vibration low down behind dash (stopped two cables touching) & splutter at 4000rpm (cam sensors replaced and ECU reset). They had the car two days, I got it back all sorted and it didn't cost me a penny. I'm getting a knocking from the rear offside now so I'll take it to them again to work their magic.

worth a call to see if they've changed back to the shell helix, i suppose mate.

i'm not taking the chance, hence i've got 5 litres of Castrol RS looking at me from the corner of my bedroom:D

when i questioned the service manager about their change to magnatec he was surprised to hear i had a poor opinion of it:confused:

thing is, for the price they charge you can put in a far better oil for about the same outlay:thumb:
