Is there software available that would enable me to use my current PC & printer to receive faxes ??

Using win XP.

Thanks

You already have it (of sorts) under fax console in programs/accessories/communications/fax - but then you have to have the PC on all the time.

Another option (which I use) is www.yac.co.uk.

Their free service (basic) receives faxes for you FOC and converts them to emails. You get your own number but the caller has to pay a mobile rate when faxing (07092 number). You can pay for the service and have an 0870 or 0845 number though.

www.j2.com will do an 0870 fax number for free. I think you can actually select geographical numbers too (e.g. an 020 number for London) but theyr'e chargeable. Like YAC it converts them to e-mails.

Winfax is superb, and it can forward the faxes via email to your work address etc

I use FaxTalk. Not free/cheap but I love the usability of it :)
