Showing ordered on request 7 days wait. Better than 98 days anyway. Fingers crossed here anyway.

I'm sorely tempted as a replacement for my trusty 17" CRT Samsung.

However, I'd promised myself a 17" TFT when this dies though and having been offered some 17" TFTs for £155+VAT today, it looks like the predicted slide for them is already happening.

I've just ordered one :D

MattN 03 August 2004 01:11 PM

I need a 17" TFT - Chris, where'd you get them from?

MattN 03 August 2004 01:21 PM

Chris - where'd you get the 17's for that price

mynickers 03 August 2004 01:43 PM

Can't help thinking it's worth waiting, in a few months time they'll be paying you to pick them up! ;)

ChrisB 03 August 2004 01:46 PM

Ingram (trade only distributor) had some in at that price.

Okay for office use I'd expect (25ms response etc).

what would scooby do 03 August 2004 04:12 PM

yuk <20 ms please - that's why I'm sticking to CRT for the mo' :D

MattW 03 August 2004 04:42 PM

Bought one last week 14ms response for £205 plus vat.

Must say my gaming has improved significantly. I can run 1280\1024 without problem, wheras my old 17 CRT was 1024\768 at its best

ChrisB 03 August 2004 04:47 PM

What model did you get Matt?

ScoobyDriverWannabe 04 August 2004 12:19 AM

probs bull crap but iv heard the price of TFTs are going to go up. Something about the TV manufactures forcing them too up the prices ace peeps are buying much cheeper TFT monitors instead of the proper TVs.

ChrisB 05 August 2004 08:49 AM

Oversupply ahead for large flat panel monitors

TFT LCD prices to fall despite growing demand

Going down...... :D

Nimbus 05 August 2004 10:17 AM

What's the 25ms, 20ms, 14ms response refering to?

ChrisB 05 August 2004 10:28 AM

It's how quick the monitor can re-act to a change in the image it's displaying.

On a fast moving game or DVD, "slow" TFTs exhibt ghosting as they play catch up. In theory, screens of 16ms are the best for games.

Cheers. I thought it was something like that. Never would have concidered check this before.

Daz34 05 August 2004 10:38 AM

Ebuyer have now sent mine out. Cannot wait to get it. I cannot believe how good a deal this is  :D

Darren

lightning101 05 August 2004 10:43 AM

Price has just went up 30 quid - but still a good deal ate 139 + vat

James Neill 05 August 2004 05:50 PM

Finally plugged mine in today - it's great 1600x1200 85Hz. Very good picture

Daz34 07 August 2004 02:39 PM

Got my SyncMaster 1100DF delivered today.
Great picture & it doesn't take up that much desktop space. Screen is huge compared to my old 17" one though
