Acceleration problem

Hi i have a 94 import wrx, it has a dump valve, stainless heatshielded induction and a de-cat pipe. Through 2nd, 3rd ,4th and 5th it's really smooth and responsive, but if i accelerate hard in first gear, right in the middle of the gear it's like a limiter comes in everything goes away and then comes back again? kind of like a go stop go again?

Had same problem. Check the Rubber hose thats Approx 3 in in Diameter that connects Intercooler to throttle body. Make sure its ok, and clips are very tight

TonyBurns 31 July 2004 05:18 PM

The best thing is regular maintenance and super unleaded fuel/optimax, this will cure 99% of all problems with a scoob :D

If you have no joy with the fuel try checking all the air + vaccum hoses around the engine, my mate had a rover 220 turbo that had a similar problem and all it turned out to be a little 6mm pipe to the airflow meter

4 octaine boost id ring power enginering.

Unless its been remapped all imports should not just rely on Optimax!!

Octane Booster may be a pain in the a$$ but many feel a necessity!

Cheers
