Just spent 10 seconds watching this brain dead mind mush.

Q: Why does anybody find this remotely interesting...? Why...?

I would like the answer to that question also! The whole concept, the people, everything about it is so thoroughly loathsome that I feel violated every time they play a clip or an advert for big brother and I'm not able to change the channel fast enough!!!

This has to be the biggest pile of ****e on tv.

I casually watched the first series with remote interest, trying to figure out why there was so much hype. That was it :(

The gf watches it from time to time, I would rather be asleep that watch this again. Each to their own though, someone must be watching it or it would not get the go ahead to be broadcast.

This time round it was very entertaining.
I watched the first one out of curiosity, the others were crap and this one was a different story all together.
I refer to it in the past tense as the tyipcaly stupid UK public has now voted out all the characters that made it worth watching. It is now as bad as the other ones were imo.
A lot of people will cast judgement over the prog. without watching it purely so they are not seen to be following the crowd.....IMO if you did not give it a go this year you missed some entertaining TV.

I love the comments such as "the wife / GF /the dog/ the cat sometimes watches it and I just so happen to be in the room." FFS be man enough to admit to watching some of it. If you feel people will judge you on what you watch on TV you are a very insecure person :rolleyes:

A unique observation of people in captiverty and an interest in human psychology would be a couple of reasons........have you no interest in either?

You can learn a lot about Human behaviour.

Not saying you cant learn more elsewhere but look beyond the ****e and there are some interesting aspects of group behaviour.

Well the evidence for modern day errosion of UK degree's must be correct, not met many peeps with a First who have an IQ less than 80.

Its "Schadenfreude" UB. It shows basic instincts with no thought of any kind of moral behaviour. They have decided it is good for ratings and money is God.

This series seems to have been going on for *ever*. Has it in fact been longer than normal? Is the prize money for the winner exceptionally large?

Also, how do these people get so long off work? That they can just emphasises to me that they're not people worth spending time watching - who *cares* what they do, or say, or how they interact (or not) ??

Its just as interesting as spending 3 hours every evening on the web,each to his own UB.
You like chatting to strangers in forums,others like watching strangers on TV,there aint any difference

But there *is* a difference. Interacting with people gets you answers, responses, things to think about and so on. And it's about things that interest you.

Where's the fun in just watching other people talk inane bollox? Couldn't you just do that in a pub or supermarket or something? I just don't understand!!

The *only* benefit of watching big brother that I can think of is that watching people less gifted in the intelligence/looks/personality department can often make someone feel better about themselves and their own life! :D

BB goes on for 10 wks,comparing that to a trip to a supermarket is just silly,and you know it.Watching relationships develop is extremely rewarding to some viewers,others just like watching a game show,either way is rewarding viewing.

LOL - but why not go and meet new real people and develop relationships of your *own*, rather than worry about people you're never going to see or hear from again??

How can it be rewarding? Isn't this the same as watching a crap film, where nothing really happens, and the characters are paper thin?

lol back atcha:) I am married,with a kid,and I see about 6000 people every day Telboy,by 10 at night i have had enough :).You can watch tv occasionally and still have a social life thanos,so stop being deliberatley argumentative.:)I don't worry about these people,I piss myself laughing at them most of the time;)
Its just great entertainment for those who like that sort of thing:) (I have to record Newsnight while its on and my wife thinks that is inherently sad,but them again,she thinks posting to strangers on forums is inherently sad).

Fair enough, it takes all sorts. I'm not being deliberately argumentative; i've just never understood why these programmes attract such large audiences (apart from perhaps to see Davina McCall occasionally!!). If there was a plot or an aim (other than to "survive") - i'd understand better; as it is, it just all seems so vacuous. Maybe it's me!
