Depends what ya want really, 1-3meg DSL is avail as is plain ole vanilla 512K ADSL wire or cable.........
You need to give more info really, but Id recommend Pipex, Zero downtime since Ive been with em and good overall spees IMHO. Stay away from AOL and BT.

AOL is £24.99 for 512MB Unlimited, Been with them for 2 years with no problems, all my mates are AOL and find it good as well, loads of new features with AOL 9.0.

512MB @ £24.99 what a bargain! :)

Whatever you do DON'T touch Tiscali. I've just switched to Prodigy and pay £30.99 for unlimited 1MB line and whilst I haven't been with them long enough to judge they have got good reviews, operate a 1 month notice policy and provide me with a static IP address.

I've got the 1MB service from www.nildram.co.uk. Excellent fast service - though it does cost a bit more.

Check out the ADSL Guide if you are having problems deciding.

Personally, I went with Pipex, in the year I have had it, not had one drop out. None too shabby for £25 a month.

Is anybody with Wanadoo??

Lil's Sis reckons Wannadoo are pants and Pipex are the chaps to spend your money with North of the Border. Seemingly the main thing to gauge them by is their monthly download limits?

Then again, she does work for PC World. :D

If you want metered access with a capped top rate metronet are excellent

Cant see the problem with BT. We have 1MB for £29.99 from them and no problems so far. Connected on day we asked for and fast delivery of everthing you need for free. Connection always states 1.1MB and speed is incredible compared to 56k.

_Meridian_ 31 July 2004 09:19 AM

I've heard a few bad things about Wanadoo (unsurprising given their history). As for AOHell, if you sign with them I'll have to kill you as an example to others.

Another vote for Pipex here. In fact, my father and six of my mates[1] took Pipex on my recommendation and none of them have had any hitches.

[1] Would be nice to get some commission ;)

Oh it makes me laugh :D
Those who sit there and slag off BT saying about their bad service... unless you have cable your using BT weather you like it or not, period ;)
I personally have only had one problem with BT but as i work for them i caused a very big fuss and it got sorted out by some quite high level people ;):D

Does nobody use telewest BB north of the border ?

sti-spec-a 03 August 2004 09:14 PM

I have had no drop out or hassle from NTL 512k I think its about £20 a month
