Customes charge query
 

Well the clutch arrived this morning, and I had to pay £13.47 VAT and £13.50 ( ! ) handling fee to recived it, which isnt really a great amount. The clutch and flywheel are all safe and sound, no problems at all.

On the VAT side how do they come up with £13.47? The parcel was described as a $50 gift.

If they were to take that at the current exchange it would be £26.76 for the worth of the parcel, then even if they were to mixup and view the $50 as £50 it still doesnt add up?

Any thoughts?

They know people undervalue things to avoid import

They take it on what they calculate the real value as- even if they dont have a clue.
