FAO Freight costs from the US to the UK

A friend of mine is setting up his own gym and is after 3 'focus masters', he has been given a price of $649 (US) each + UPS air freight from the States.

Any idea if theres a cheaper way of getting them from the US to the UK as he's been quoted approx $1,500 freight???
