Sorry, but I think suprabeast has a point ...points & fine slowed me down for about a week ...I then merrily carried on regardless, or slipped back into bad habits ;) ...I only really began to 'slow down' when I had a friendly chat with my missus's old man (ex traffic) ...& I basically learnt to drive within my visible braking distance, amongst other things ;) ...haven't had a near miss, points or even a producer since (grabs onto biggest bit of 2 by 4 he can find!) :D

The point isn't so much that points make you slow down, although the debate did unfortunately head int hat direction. With reference to "driver education" that suprabeast was going on about, my point was that getting points on your licence has more effect on a driver's behaviour than all the other forms of "driver education" combined. :) |
