Pete,

So did you invite her to the next SIDC track day? I'm sure there are plenty of us that would let her drive our cars around Brands.

Neil Micklethwaite 07 July 2000 12:30 AM

Pete.

You are a lucky so and so. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

What other cars were involved ?, no need to give results. Who did the driving ?

P.S. Don't make the Kiwi's Waggon TOO fast

alistair 07 July 2000 12:35 AM

VBH - what a girl !

Good fun watching this with my Jeep Cherokee driving wife !

Kev 07 July 2000 07:26 AM

Another top show last nite ...

What poor excuses they had for owning/using a 4x4 for the school run

"I live in a hilly area"
"Have you ever tried doing a £500 shop at Sainsbury's with a pushchair"
"I live in the country"

And how much MPG did they get out of the Range Rover ...... 9mpg was it !!

K

XRS 07 July 2000 08:06 AM

Kev,
9 mpg.
A bit like a Scoob on a GOOD day.

I spent Wednesday with Clarkson and VBH.

If you think he's funny on the telly, you should meet him in real life. Top Bloke and has you laughing all day long. Also, not at all pretentious like some journo's I've dealt with.

VBH? well it's all been said before http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif And she REALLY can drive a Scooby.

The days filming will account for about 6 minutes on his christmas video, out in November. UK's quickest "Cozzer" (determined by a mad 10 car drag race down the runway) versus Darren Soothill's STi V.

I'm not revealing the outcome, but you won't be dissapointed http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

You lucky sod!!!

A very Jealous Dave..

Mike Rainbird 07 July 2000 09:23 AM

Wish I'd been there to fight the "Cosseh" battle. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif Can't wait to see the outcome. I bet they were all slow though....
LOL
(Not really sour grapes that I wasn;t invited (much http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Mike

Kev 07 July 2000 09:25 AM

Pete ..

You lucky devil .... met "jezza" in the corridors of the BBC about a year ago and what a good laugh, just a run of the mill top bloke. Never met VB though ..... I think I'd turn to jelly and come over all un-necessary http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I met JC when he was in the audience at Chris Evans' GLR radio programme about 7 years back.

Both he and Chris Evans were completely normal (though CE is utterly manic, totally wired, and has the attention span of a gnat!!) and took us all off to the pub afterwards. Normal conversation about cars etc ensued - Chris Evans had more money than sense even then, but was desperate to drive JC's Cosworth. Unfortunately it had been clamped out on the Marylebone Road.

JC reckoned he was the luckiest bloke in the world - he loves to drive cars, loves to chat to people, thought he was getting money for old rope, but said he wasn't stupid enough to turn down the vast sums of money he was being offered.

Pete

Did Mr.Clarkson talk more than you then m8 ? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Wasn't Tiff there ? , Oh I forgot no EVO's ( or was there ? )

Pete Croney 07 July 2000 10:35 AM

There were 2 EVO's there, but they weren't deemed quick/cool enough to play in this league http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

VBH said she would rather have an STi, anyday.

Pete Croney 07 July 2000 05:07 PM

JC drove the Escort Cosworth, VBH drove Darren's Scooby.

2 EVO's milled around and were waved away.

CharlieWhiskey 08 July 2000 06:12 PM

Some people have all the luck!

VBH, in a Scooby, she can have a go in mine any day https://smilecwm.tripod.com/sally/spineyes.gif https://smilecwm.tripod.com/splarka/as-beat.gif

Chris

Darren Soothill 10 July 2000 08:19 AM

No she didnt dent the bonnet!!!!

Darren Soothill 10 July 2000 08:31 AM

Excessive driving at speed can have a negative effect on your tyres! They where only 5 weeks old!!!

Darren Soothill 10 July 2000 08:42 AM

And finally proof if it was need that driving an impreza can do strange things to you!!!

Neil Smalley 10 July 2000 09:04 AM

Looks like it's caption competition time

"Please get out of my car, you've wrecked
the tires, thrashed the engine and not
even let me take you out for dinner"

VBH "Ohh you naughty boy you. Just you wait
til I get you home"

boomer 10 July 2000 06:30 PM

Did VBH drive in her sandals?

mb

Darren Soothill 10 July 2000 07:10 PM

Yes and no I dont have a foot fetish but she did have a broken toe which was her excuse for wearing them!!

And the carpet was clean before anyone else makes a comment!!!
