Value of JDM STI7 ecu ?

Hi all,

Does anyone know roughly what a JDM STI7 ecu goes for ? I have one I may consider selling, about 1 year old and had a mail in map done by ScoobySport, never had a problem with it except for the fact that the map was causing my car to det and since I can't get the problem sorted I am thinking about selling the ecu.

Cheers,
Ray

Cant think of anyone who would want to buy an ecu that gives you det problems.

Dunno how much was it new? There was a sti ppp one in the for sale forum asking £650.
Is it an open licence on the ecutek remap?

Razor2001 07 July 2004 06:15 PM

uhhhh, you obviously would have the ecu remmaped for your car.....I just figured someone may want to keep their original ecu as factory spec and then get another remmaped so you can always go back to factory spec if need be......this is what I did anyway thank goodness becuase now I have put back in the OEM ecu and car runs OK so my plan was put to use.....

No idea about the open license ScoobySport did the map....not sure what type of license that was they put on it....

Cheers,
Ray

Would of thought it was, just cos in that case who ever buy's it wouldn't need to pay the licence fee again thus maybe a cheaper remap?

The licence will allow any ECuTek remapper to access it without use of a further licence. It would need mapping to suit whatever car it was to be used on.

Can a License done on the ecu by a UK EcuTek dealer still be used by a EcuTek dealer in another country who wants to map it ?

Cheers,
Ray

Yup, ANY EcuTek remapper.

Cool thanks :D

So I guess that makes it more desirable as one only has to pay for the actual mapping labour now...

Ray
