head bolts torque down procedure wanted

Has anyone got the correct torque procedure for the standard head bolts?

Can you also re-use the original head bolts or would it be better to replace with new when heads have been removed.

Thanks Ticky

Allways use new bolts as they are the stretch type . I have posted the procedure before so if you do a search you should find it , if not I'll post it up tonight

Taken from a workshop manual
<-front
3 1 6
5 2 4

1) apply a coat of engine oil to washers and bolt threads
2) tighten all bolts to 29nm or 22 lb/ft in numerical sequence
tighten all bolts to 69nm or 51 lb/ft in numerical sequence
3) back off all bolts by 180 deg in sequence and then again by 180 deg
4)tighten bolts 1+2 to 34nm or 25 lb/ft
5)tighten bolts 2,3,4,5 and 6 to 15nm or 11 lb/ft
6)tighten all bolts by 80-90 deg in sequence
7)tighten the bolts by a further 80-90 deg in sequence , but do not go past 90 deg

Hope this helps Dave

Perfect timing

Hi Dave,

I had just been searching for the (torque procedure) thread & I could not find it. Was just about to get back in touch with you to post the instructions but you have already done it. Thank you.
