McArthur Glen ,Livingstone

Anyone on here had problems with interference from the police mast next door. Feckin stranded today for 4 hours in the open air carpark directly in front of the shopping centre, pissin a rain, RAC were ready to by pass the alarm and engine Immobiliser to get it running, luckily the recovery truck driver fae Edinburgh had the same problem recently with another scoob( anyone on here), got the car loaded , down to the local petrol station and hey presto, starts first time......If the Mrs wants to shop there again, were takin hers

A recent Glasgow meet in a local hotel saw many different alarm systems fail to work!! :(

There is something they aint tellin' us!!!

I've heard of folk having probs with interference, but I've personally never had any probs in 5 years ownership. I parked all over the McArthur Glen car park loads of times (once per week on average) and never had problems. Guess you were really unlucky.

I would stick to the multi-storey (upper levels) next time; at least you'll keep dry.

I concur, had the very same prob driving back from K/h, got a puncture, after stopping, the car widdny start, pushed around a bend, behind some houses, and hay presto, way she went!

Can you not turn reset the Immobiliser with the alarm PIN code??

P37ERG 05 July 2004 11:11 AM

ye, re -entered the alarm code into the small keypad, but again with no success, i have also heard that the same has happened to people in different areas. I am just glad that i chose to have the car lifted rather than letting the RAC bloke fiddle with the wiring, result.... an auto electrician rewiring the car, costing me a small packet for a problem which was never really there!!!

Your right Ozzy the multi storey from now on.

I have been there several times and have not had a problem. my car is a 99. Is the problem with the later models?

P37ERG 05 July 2004 05:54 PM

Dont know if this is specific to any model, mines an MY00. Bloke who moved me said he'd had one subaru just last month with the same problem and some woman in a polo who thought it wouldnt happen twice....wrong
