STi panel filter from Japanparts STIRacing

Can anyone confirm the STi panel air filter from www.stiracing.com is identical to the one from www.japanparts.com? Has anyone had experience with any of these two suppliers?

Also, does anyone know how the STi panel filter compare to the original filter as far as protection/particle filtration?

Just got mine from Japanparts, looks identical to the pic on stiracing. Be aware you may get stung for import taxes if you buy from Japan, it added £20 odd to my order which makes the price somewhat less attratctive! Think Roger Clarke Motorsport also keep the sti filter in stock.

They do look the same. Filtration wise - it's a genuine Subaru approved part, so there won't be any problems there. I've been using one for a few months now very pleased with it. There have been many positive comments about them on the board.

But has anyone had experience with Stiracing? is their filter made by the same manufaturer as the one sold by Japan parts?

Well it has the STI logo across it, so unless STI Racing are selling hooky gear or have nicked the logo from somewhere (highly unlikey on both counts :) ), I think it would be safe to assume that it is made by STI/Subaru. Your best bet would be to talk to STI Racing.

I have been emailing Simon at stiracing for the last few days about buying defi gauges, he is very helpful, and alway replys very quickly to emails (remember he's 8 hours ahead though).

I have only read good things about him on these forums, Which is why I'm buying from him.

Drop simon an e-mail and he'll answer any queries you might have.

I've only ordered a few minor bits but always received excellent service :D
