All,

Just been looking on the Scoobymania site and saw they do a nice binicle replacement for the center/top dash tray which holds three gauges. Does anyone have this and what is the quality like?

I would like to fit a boost gauge and was wondering, if I go for this scoobymania item, what are the other two gauges most worth having?

My final question is, i noticed you can buy two types of Gauge, Mechanical and Electrical. What is the difference and which is better.

Thanks in advance,

Karlos

Hi Karlos

I've seen this thing installed in ScoobyMania's own car. It's better than the GGR one that I bought...

...and cheaper.

The difference between mechanical and electrical is that with an electrical unit you get a sender to mount on the engine, then just run a wire to the gauge whereas with mechanical, you run a pipe off the engine to the gauge. Me? I'm not keen on the idea of hot oil coming to a gauge in the passenger compartment, so I went for electrical oil pressure and temperature. Boost is mechanical, as a bit of air doesn't worry me.

I've put a guide together -

Thanks again Chiark!

My interior is going to undergo such a transformation next month, what with new gauges and sounds.....Luverly!
