Ho ho !! Go on Thomo ! :D

Up to you i suppose, i'm running an HKS SSQV...nice and loud.
If you wanna hear it pop by the house mate. :)

Thomohawk 01 July 2004 03:50 PM

Hi Johnny - cheers for the response!

Have checked out the usual sites since starting this thread, so will see what comes back, would be good to hear what the Scooby veterans recommend tho'. Incidently I don't really wanna spend a rediculous amount of money, but I guess you only get what you pay for eh!

Cheers for the offer of letting hear it m8, but reckon I'd struggle given all the other noises your mota makes! ;) - I'll pay close attention the next time I'm out!

Thomo.

P.S. MY03! ;)

kart_man 01 July 2004 04:04 PM

The HKS is generally regarded as the safest option. A bit more expensive, but still this side of 300 usually.

Thomohawk 01 July 2004 04:16 PM

Hey Kart_man.

Safest option...... as in...? Are there 'un-safe' DV's out there then, and what makes them so??

Ta.

VTA's (vent to atmosphere) are regarded as unsafe as the 'loss' of air is not accounted for by the MAF sensor and thereby affects fueling (hence the occassional flame ;)). I ran a VTA for a few months, loved it and had no problems. Your warranty will be fine as the dump valve is easy to switch back over with the original if there is any problem or service :)

Kendo 01 July 2004 08:17 PM

If you go for the HKS (or any other Japanese DV) try www.takakaira.com or www.checkerflag.co.jp for prices cos even with your import tax its still cheaper than getting one in this country

I bought my HKS SSQ from Taka Kaira for the Scoob & Blitz Dv for the GTI-R from Checker Flag saved almost £80 a time
