Help with speakers.
I have heard on here that the Infinity 6000cs speakers fit perfectl in the front of an MY00 Scoob, and teh Infinity 6903 fit perfectly in the back of an MY00 Scoob.
Can someone tell me if their is a Kenwood equivelent to these speakers. Also what teh dimensions of them are. I am after a Kenwood setup but I suppose if I have differnet manufacturers speakers installed there shouldn't be a problem. Cheers Steve |
Ok nother question
are the Infinity 6500cs the same size as the 6000cs? Also I have written Infinity 6903 which are 6x9 but am currently looking at INfinity 9603i 6x9 are they the same ones and I got my number the wrong way round or what? This is pretty urgent so if anyone can help I would appreciate it. Cheers Steve |
Ok I have worked out that the 6000cs is 160mm deep and the 6500cs is 165mm deep but how deep is the MY00 front door?
Also the 9603i is the same as the 6903 only it is 300w 3way instead of 200w 2 way. |
for the 6x9's you'll need to use an mdf sheet to fit them - i ended up with the 5 1/4" jobs - only 135W but very good.
Halfords do a fitting kit for the 6500's for the front doors. ask them - about £13 i think. |
Thanks messiah but I am in germany and we don't have a halfords.
Are there any speakers that will drop straight in the parcel shelf in place of the OEM ones? |
Can someone please help me out here.
Which speakers would be best to replace the OEM ones??? |
so nobody in the ICE forum knows anything about speakers in scoobies then???
|
Just bough my self a Rockford Fosgate Punch 4004 amp to drive the Infinity speakers that I decided to get inspite of the lack of help on here.

Its not a personal thing, I have asked similar questions in the past, after looking round a couple of shows dominated by Impreza’s of the past month, I notice that ice upgrades are not at the top of the list of modifications despite what you might think from reading on here. Lets face it, its probably one of the worst cars to listen to music in, I to would like to know what speakers to put in, will proly put in your suggestion. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have heard on here that the Infinity 6000cs speakers fit perfectl in the front of an MY00 Scoob, and teh Infinity 6903 fit perfectly in the back of an MY00 Scoob ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ajax |
All i know is the Infinity 6000cs speakers fit spot on in the front door cards of my leggy and the sound great and i am in the process of sorting some 6502i Speakers for the rear!
Sorry its not an Impreza but most things are the same. :) Comper100 |
Thanks Ajax
recently I heard that the Infinity 5002i are direct replacements for the rear parcel shelf speakers. Steve |
IMO 6000CS and 6500CS will have near as damn it the same cone size. 160mm or 165mm is the speaker diameter, not the depth.
6000CS comes with woofers with '4 point' mounting and much mularky and adaptery to fit in 'factory like' or 'custom' opening. 6500CS has a one piece woofer (plus two piece grille assembly) with multiple mounting holes in the 'rim/edge'. A spacer of up to 12mm may be required to clear the window. J. |
Cheers Vindaloo
Do you know what the depth is before a spacer is needed and also what is the max depth speaker that can be fitted behind the door panel. Is 66mm to deep to go behind the door card and still clear the window? I am now looking at Rockford Fosgate Punch P162S for the front doors. And Rockford Fosgate Punch FRC4369 6x9 for the rear shelf. |
Some more options (in German I'm afraid) apat from the RF stuff has anybody heard of the other stuff or recommend anything else?

Easiest way to obtain spacers is to butcher the factory speakers. See CHIARK's website for instructions. Apparently Vauxhall Corsa spacers (from Halfords(?)) can be adapted. Otherwise get the jigsaw out.
I have Infinity Perfect 6.1s and 12mm MDF rings are way too shallow. I've had to build up the mount with more MDF and (lots of) dynamat. J. |
