These are the details I got from them regarding my 5 door -

The sound Barrier kit gives the best noise reduction

There was a slight mistake in our advert the correct price for the sound
barrier kit is £200.00 plus £6.00 for carriage

The kit covers the following areas
Underbonnet
Bulkhead
Interior floors
Under rear seats
Rear Floors
Rear boot lid
Boot floor
Wheel arches
Door Pads

Not sure I want any less engine noise (!) but a reduction in road noise would be welcome - £200 is quite a lot of dosh though, and I wonder how easy it is to fit..

The latest edition from True Grip contains an advert from a company called BJ Acoustics who sell additional sound proofing kits for all makes of car, Impreza included.
Does anybody have any experience of this company or additional sound proofing products in general?
I'm seriously thinking of this option as the road noise in my 5 door, especially on bad surfaces, is really starting to set my teeth on edge.

I saw that as well, but it really didn't explain much. I had a look at the website a bit more use, but not much more!

Had a BJ kit in an old Range Rover with a d@#!%: engine in it (I can't bring myself to mention that fuel again - what was I thinking of V8 is the only way to go!)

The kit was quite good, and everything fitted pretty well. The bits that were supposed to stick to the bonnet didn't stick that well, but a bit of evo-stick soon sorted it!

It certainly made some difference, but then Range Rovers (of that age at least) were never very quiet.

At the end of the day though, I don't find scoobys too loud anyway, so I am not sure if there is much improvement to be made!

Does anyone know how much the entire kit wheighs? or what the stuff actually is?

I emailed BJ Acoustics and the kit costs £200 plus £6 P&P. It weighs 25kg and can be fitted without removing the seats or carpets (the pads just slide underneath, having removed the kick strips) but the door panels needs taking off to fit the door pads. Not sure about the bulkhead.

Likewise, my newly acquired 5door sti is fairly noisey.....how about fitting to the boot area only ?? As I recon most of the noise is coming from there ?

I've had my MY00 4 door for about a year now, and I've always thought the road noise was very loud.

Somebody told me at the time that the OE Bridgestones are partly responsible. I've just changed mine for Pzeros, and they are much quieter, especially on the coarse surfaces that you refer to.

I gave BJ Acoustics a ring, they said their top model (sound barrier kit) was about 30 kilos, and all the sheets exept the under bonnet one being made of a 3-way Rubber-polysomethingorother-rubber ply, with the underbonnet one using a foil outer face, rather than a rubber one,
Im thinking of using the sheets selectivly as well, as the only unpleasant road noise i get in my STi 4-door is grit/debrit noise coming from the rear wheel arches and boot area, strait through the rear seats (no rear firewall) and spoiling the effect of the allready quite well soudproofed cabin -its very graphic to listen to!
