I seem to have gained an optional extra in my 94 WRX (5 door) that I don't really need. The spare wheel well in the boot had around 2" water in it after the car had been outside for about a week (it usually lives in a garage). Along with this, the carpet was soaked. I had this problem once before, but thought the application of some silicone sealant around the top of the rear light had solved it - obviously not!

So... any ideas? Anyone else had a similar problem, and if so how did you fix it?

Any suggestions welcome!

Neil.

hi Neil,

This won't be much help I'm afraid, but I had exactly the same problem on my 96 UK.
Couldn't find for the life of me where it was coming in http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/confused.gif so i drilled a few small holes in the bodywork under the spare wheel and rustproofed them. hey presto. collander!
not the best solution I know but a solution all the same.

Had this problem in the 22b.

Was due to the rear light being changed for english ones with fog lights built in.

Changed them back and in the process, covered them with copious silicone.

All the water from the boot lid was draining down the seal in the lights and into the boot on both sides, was inches deep.

Since being done, not a drop.

Good luck.
