Just been up for a look around Calders..

Was along at CRD having a look round and I must say if I were to buy a performance jap car that would be the first place I would go, Luckily for me they had there white scooby out (You know the one that won Scoobyshootout:D), had a wee look round it, pretty much a drag now than usual daily impreza. Whole interior stripped out, no bonnet scoop just a hole for the oil cooler, slicks and plenty of strapped down carbon fibre body parts.

Be careful m8. Calders reputation aint that great.
Don't mention their name in front of sti-spec-a. In fact, do mention their name, you might as well have the truth!

I've been through on a number of occasions. Never come home impressed.
Was going to buy an import, but finally decided to play safe and go for a UK spec.

Happy hunting!
norry.

Yep, not going to get into a slanging match about someones company but I have never been that impressed with the condition of their cars. Tend to have interior bits hanging off and some with generally tatty paint work. I bought an import 5 1/2 years ago but even then I didnt consider their cars for the reasons above. It just made me think that if they wernt prepared to put that small bit of effort into tidying up the cars on the forecourt then how much effort do they put into sourcing the cars in the first place?

Just my opinion btw, and hopefully they might see this as a positive comment.

Same as most on this thread, I've usually walked away from their cars pretty quickly.

About 5 years ago, I was looking at a Pulsar GTiR at theirs, and there was heaps of interior trim missing and a couple of under bonnet components too.

I was told that they were removed to stick on another car that had sold and they'd be sourced from another one in stock.

Bye bye.

Yes, it's mainly the imports I was referring to.

As mentioned by others, interior trim missing/badly damaged, wheels and spoilers/boot lids moved around from car to car, same with steering wheels and gear knobs etc, etc.

Mechanicals as well. Went through for a test drive (which I had organised the previous day) when I arrived the car wouldn't start and when they opened the bonnet there was a severe oil leak. Don't even know where it was coming from it was so bad!

You really don't know what you are getting, unless you are a real expert.
(or you work there)
