MY96 (JDM) folding mirrors onto UK MY99

Picking up some MY96 folding mirrors to put on MY99.
Anyone confrim that they will fit okay?

Also, was thinking of not bothering with the JDM switch and wiring them into central locking system so they fold when locked and unfold when unlocked. Is this do-able (or better still anyone already done this, and can tell me whats needed), any info much appreciated.
cheers

I have never tried but I would guess that the central locking circuit gives a pulse where the folding mirros will need a continuous current for a few seconds. I'm sure it can be done but perhaps not so easy.

Sorry for butting in but what does JDM mean?

seanks 29 June 2004 01:26 PM

Not sure on the actual intials, but JDM basically refers to a car imported direct from Japan. Usually with slighlty higher spec and a bit more bhp, partially due to a few more ron in the jap petrol.

No-one with any info on these Mirrors then

may have to try searching .

Im sure this topic has been covered before.

I checked the plug on the 95 with the 99 today and they are the same.
The uk99 even had the extra wires in the door wiring loom.

Do they look similar? ie no black strips on them?

Ps thanks for the info
