HELP Downpipe nuts needed

LOL well found my Exhuast blow today......most of my downpipe nuts are either loose or falling off. Anyone have 3 or 4 I could ...........em......... steal ;)
I would need em tonight,so if anyone local ( bathgate) has some I would appreciate it, if not its off to Subaru tomoz in the hope they have some.

Maybe try Halfrauds?

Question, if I was loosing exhuast gasses from downpipe this would only cause noise and me passing oot at the wheel after breathing in fumes correct.
Wouldnt have any other effects would it? Spose Im asking have I damaged my turbo?

Dem nuts are 10mm fine.

Doubt you'll get them in Halfords

Nobles is @£1.25 a nut as I recall.

I've got two here. If ya like?

I stood corrected by the chap at Kenneth Melvilles.

'They're not bolts, sir. They're studs!'

That must make a hell of a difference as i was £5.24 for one! :(

This was shortly after coughing up £22 for the 4 metal pins for the brake callipers!

Spooks,

I did exactly the same as you. Knew I had a problem when I heard one of the nuts fall off and rattle down the outside of the downpipe while driving :)

Mine was leaking for a while until I got time to get the nuts. Only thing I think it may have done was jam the wastegate actuator as the gases must have dried out the lubrication. Re-greased and have had no problems with anything else since.

As mentioned above, nuts are not easy to find as they are not standard nuts and are brass I think - I presume so they tighten when the exhaust warms up.

Funny how Halfords are called Halfrauds, as they haven't got a patch on Subaru with this. £2 a nut up here in Aberdeen!! but saves messing around trying to get the right thing elsewhere.

Cheers,

Duncan
