First real modification to the scooby

Had the scooby (MY00) for just over a year now and have just bought a Miltek back box for it to get a better flat four burble.

Until now the only mod i had done was change the grill badge to a pink one and a aluminium gear knob...........

Wow what a difference the sound is really good, not to loud at cruise and a nice burble when I open it up. Really pleased that I have done it now :)

Need to restrain myself from further mods......maybe and re-mapped ECU???????

a full decat and tek3....

....should see you on the right side of 280 bhp +...i had the same done to my new WRX 6 months after buying it and the difference is like night and day.

you sound like me mate - had my scoob a year before getting a decent backbox (and decat centre) then wished I'd done it straight away!

Full de-cat :) :)

LOL Scooby808!

I changed my backbox (MY00) on Sunday for a Magnex 6x4" oval. For such a simple modification the difference is brilliant. It burbles nicely but the noise isn't too intrusive inside the car - however, having said that I turned the car round in a pub car park after taking it out for a quick spin and everybody in the beer garden turned to stare at me until I left the car park (embarrassing!). The car also feels more responsive mid-range but I need to take it for a longer drive to confirm this.

Now I'm thinking centre section de-cat, then Ecutek (after improving my brakes) . . . hmmm! God knows where I'll get the money from to do all of this but the standard UK turbo begs for modifications! :D

The only thing stopping me going full De-cat is the pain of MOT time, car is now 3.5 years old, just extended warrantee for the next year and do about 400 miles a week.

Would agree she seems more responsive in the mid range now and easire to spin up and being that I have washed and polished it yesterday goes even faster :)

I've also just dumped the standard backbox after 18 months of owning my 00MY turbo. Also got a decat downpipe - been told that a de-cat centre is of little use with the standard catted downpipe. Both are Scoobysport Janspeed jobbies. Difference in throttle response and high-end torque is staggering. Sounds the dog's too :D
