ixus 400/500 vs sony p100
About the only advantage i can see with the sony is the video capture facility of 30 fps rather than the 15 fps of the ixus series , my question is do you think i'll notice the difference between the two video qualities as i've no idea....

Yes you will.

it's a still camera
buy a video camera if you want proper video ..... I have an older Ixus and the vids are good enough for posting on the net. Craig. |
Cheers, i really fancied the ixus 400/500 and read some great reviews but was put off by the 15fps video,i have since found some clips of 15 & 30 fps and there is a pretty big difference ,as you say ,so i think i'll have to go with the sony...
I have a dedicated video camera but it's not the type of thing you can just stuff into a jeans pocket and forget about :p ,and i don't fancy lugging it about round my neck :D I'd prefer the IXUS as a stills camera only but i know i'd regret it once video fps was introduced into the equation..... |
rb5 black dsc-p100 compact, not the digicam 'proper' that i've just found is also available called P100

Have a look at the Monolta G500 (used to be called Konica KD-510z), much better than the Ixus range for a similar price.
