215/45/17's on my classic ???
i have a myoo uk turbo classic with pdf7's
just ordered some toyo 215/40/17's but they sent 215/45/17's by mistake, obviously they will fit and they are worth more etc but at the moment it has 205/45/17's and by going 10mm wider i wanted to reduce the height. should i get them collected and correct ones delivered OR should i keep them and use them ? cheers daz |
Send them back and get the 215/40's so you get the correct rolling circumference.
|
Richie's right, send them back as they will catch slightly, and ask them for some decent quality tyres while you are there

Actually 215/45/17 is closer to the standard rolling circumference of the standard 16" wheel and tyre combo than 215/40/17 which is actually smaller than standard, I'm running 215/45 with no problems, the only time I get any rubbing is on massive compressions on crappy C roads, and this is on the arch lip due to running 45mm offset wheels, if I ran 48 or 52 as is ideal then this wouldn't happen.

i have got 205/45's at the moment so theyre only a bit wider and a tadge higher 45% of 215 instead of 205 but i have contacted them and they are exchanging them tomorrow..
cheers all daz |
I'm running 215/45R17 with P1 suspension on my MY00 and they only catch at 120mph over the wildest compression I can find for miles around. However, I did unclip the rear arch liner.
The ride comfort is better and it lengthens my gearing which I really need because short gearing and high torque makes a frantic ride. |
