Don't know what they recommend but I know what they acually did - I had a puncture in one tyre which was not repairable so dealer simply replaced one tyre (at about 8,000 miles from new)

I have had no obvious problems since.

Thanks Jay. Maybe it will settle once the silicon's off the tread.

Does anyone know if Subaru reccomend you fit two tyres if you need a replacement... I know Volvo won't allow Kwik Fit etc. to single fit tyres.

I punctured the rear drivers side last week and had to replace the bugger. The other 3 tyres have done about 4k. But I'm fecked if I'm buying two SO2s.

Will this effect the steering. I've checked pressures and balance etc...

I'm having trouble locating the particular thread I saw here that relates. Apparently because of AWD it is important to have tyres that have very similar levels of tread. I think someone was suggesting that otherwise wear can occur in the diffs. I can't remember if it applied to all four corners or per axle.
