Knocking from Drop links

Helo,
I have recently fitted new drop links onto the rear suspension of my MY01 WRX (bugeye). They work fine but i seem to get a knocking now and then. I think its because the drop link is hitting the rear bar from the centre of the car to the hub. I know this knocking not from the exhaust before anybody asks.
I would be greatful for any feed back....or do i just get rid of the anti-roll bar and fita white lines one?

Yours Peter

Have you got the drop links on the right way round? They shouldn't catch anything.

Did you check the internal diameter of the new links matched the dia of the old ones.
Some after market kits are for 22mm bars - think the OEM part is 20mm (needs someone to confirm) so the attaching bolts maybe loose in the drop link sleeve.

Not sure about the newage cars, but the droplinks for the classic are pretty basic. They don't have any connection with the thickness of the bars themselves.

The droplinks come with new bolts which match the change in diameter for the drop link bolt holes.

The only possibility is a 3rd-part bolt maybe smaller for the existing ARB bolt hole. It's more likely to be larger though. They do go on one way, so it's possible to have them incorrectly fitted. They certainly should touch any part of the suspension.

I have pics from my install on my website if you want to check.

Stefan - I was thinking he may have used the old bolts - but you worded it a lot better ;) :)

It's probably not the first time the old bolts have been re-used :)

I was looking at my pics from underneath the car and I can't see where you would get any knocking from.

Thanks for the info and the website link.
They are on the correct way round and i have got new bolts so that should not be causing the problem. Will put the orginal ones back on to see if it is these parts that have caused the noise.Butmine are the powerflex droplinks and from the picture mine are a lot closer than the ones on the website for some reason.

Yours
Peter
