NBO 2 THANK YOU ALL !!!!!!

############

thanks to everyone who helped make the NBO 2 the top event in the scooby callender !!!

5 months of planning was worth it to see an empty field at 830AM transfer into the best attended NBO 2 yet

Thanks to all of the cumbrian and Tyne tees members who worked their socks off to make it a sucess from the bucket men judges ,marshalls, tent erectors,.clerical, litter colectors money counters, and martin who took over the PA system

Martin is a professional radio DJ who give a great performance

BAH who did some super aerial shots and Martim (Ninnybobs) who has been a great help with his planning and preparation !!!

I have a meeting with lightwater valley tomorrow but you might as well pencil the same date next year for the NBO 3 ############

460 cars came today ( 405 scoobs 55 other performance cars) and we raised for Cancer Research the grand total of

£3015 pounds :
( last year we raised £ 1480 )

All suppliers reported excellent trading and are all booked in for next year!!!

The sun was delivered on time as usual

the only disapointment was the 2 cars that were doing donuts at the end untill the marshall evicted them but they will be back at school tomorrow !!!

thanks to all the various scooby clubs that set up their club displays and to all the convoy leaders who helped in the logistics of getting 400++ scoobys into a field before 11AM .

See you all next year and once again thank you all for your atendance

Lordharding .

Buzzer 13 June 2004 10:02 PM

Superb mate, me and the family thoroughly enjoyed it. With the exception of Sonic trying to get me to buy a 22b.................. ;)

Well done to all who made it a great day for all of us and especially YOU Lordharding, without you at the helm it wouldn't of been so big :)

When you have finished with the direct line to him upstairs, is there any chance I could use it to sort out the weather for my BBQ later in the year?

cw42 14 June 2004 08:34 AM

BBQ later in the year

Jay_bee 14 June 2004 11:11 AM

Already posted elsewhere, but many thanks to Lord Harding and his team for a superb and well organised event.

WELL DONE

BAH 14 June 2004 11:39 AM

What a day indeed.....

Go to hand it to Lord Harding for his "Vision" of a few scoobs meeting up in a field to make money for charity....(Phhhhh a few scoobs) I hope you ordered a bigger field for next year.

Alot of work but in behind the scenes to organise the event,by Cumrian & TTS members, i was just realy greatfull to help and be a part of it...

All the Marshals from the variouse Clubs who collected money and parked scoobs in there hundreds.

All the traders for there raffle prizes especilly Stan Parmers for auctioning of those STI backboxes for the cheepst price ever...BARGIN

What a site it was from the top of the aerial platform taking the Official NBO 2004 photo's and seeing over 400 scoobs parked up....Photo available shortly for a small donation to cancer research of course..;)

I would have loved to spend a bit more time wandering round meeting up and putting a face to a name but, there was just to much to do. Anyway if you saw the Aerial platform going round that was me on the top of it and thanks to DAN THE PLATFORM MAN for being my Driver.....;)

One other memory from the day was when i was on the field directing cars, an a beet up old skoda entered, as i approched the guy driving to ask him were he was gong (in a you cant park that here mate type of stance) he said i was only going to the shops for my morning paper and ended up here...:):)

Great day, look forward to next year, and ill remeber to put the suncream on....he says bright red and in pain. Oghhhh

lordharding 14 June 2004 12:40 PM

NBO 3 all ready booked !!!

As you all did so well and raised over my target set for cancer research £2500 set but #we did

£3015 on the day :D:D:D

Northern Big One 3 ###########

it starts again !!!!

and there is only one green wagon thats first on the list !!!

one of my laughs of the day was steave sherwin from cumbria who convoyed with us in the marshalls convoy at a steady pace):D
helped set up in the morning and parked his Octavia Rs among the scoobs
despite all the rules and put his TAXI numberplate on the car !!!

then there was my long suffering lady of the house who was surposed to join the official cumbrian convoy at 9am left the house at 11am got lost after leaving the A1 missed a roundabout just outside lightwater next to the NBO signs and did a 10mile detour !!!arriving at 130PM to catch me staring at the Northern Big one girls :D:D

If its possible please visit our forum www.wyioc.com and let us know in a post or email myself webmaster@wyioc.com or our events sec events@wyioc.com

thanks for a great day out:)

Must say a big thank you to Lordharding/ Ninnybobs and all the Cumbrian/ TTS peeps for what was the NBO 2. All your effort/ time spent organizing is much appreciated.

The day was outstanding in many ways and find it a little strange the way some threads have gone since. I mean my MY99 Wagon is as rare as rockin horse sh1te round my way as there isn't another one like it in my street LOL

A few annoying things ie dumpvlaves/ donuts but we don't live in a perfect world full of responsible people i suppose.

Roll on the NBO 3, i for one can't wait :):D:):D

Well done John and Martin for creating another excellent NBO and thanks for letting me park my humble Legacy with all the 'Big Boys'.
Good job BAH and myself when on ahead with the traders plan and left Matin to wait for Dion at the services otherwise he might not have found his way and missed out on Car of the Day LOL! Well done Dion, have you put the trophy down yet?
Bring on NBO 3!
Ade.

Thanks for a great day out and very well done on raising all that cash. See you next year :D

nod94sti 14 June 2004 11:28 PM

them cars donutting was best part of the day, just a bit of harmless fun in the corner, no one was at risk of injury because the field was nearly empty and it only lasted a few seconds

Many apologise for the sideways moment on leaving my parking space. The grass caught me out actually.

I wasn`t doughnutting tho. The harmless fun you guys call it can get something like the NBO banned from lightwater valley if it happens again. So dont spoil it for the rest of us. Why not video yourself doing it in a farmers field then post the video much more people will see you do it and less risk of u stopping this event and upsetting or injuring anybody.
