Congratulation to the NBO organisers

Im sure everyone who attended the NBO2 at lightwater Valley today will join me in congratulating the boys from Cumbrian Scoobs and TyneTees Scoobs in another well organised day.

With over 400 Scoobs in one field and plenty of cash for Cancer Research and plenty of sun im sure it could not have gone any better

Well done Chaps !!!

NBO

thanks to everyone who helped make the NBO 2 the top event in the scooby callender !!!

5 months of planning was worth it to see an empty field at 830AM transfer into the best attended NBO 2 yet

Thanks to all of the cumbrian and Tyne tees members who worked their socks off to make it a sucess from the bucket men judges ,marshalls, tent erectors,.clerical, litter colectors money counters, and martin who took over the PA system

Martin is a professional radio DJ who give a great performance

BAH who did some super aerial shots and Martim (Ninnybobs) who has been a great help with his planning and preparation !!!

I have a meeting with lightwater valley tomorrow but you might as well pencil the same date next year for the NBO 3 ############

460 cars came today ( 405 scoobs 55 other performance cars) and we raised for Cancer Research the grand total of

£3015 pounds ::D:D:D:D
( last year we raised £ 1480 )

All suppliers reported excellent trading and are all booked in for next year!!!

The sun was delivered on time as usual

the only disapointment was the 2 cars that were doing donuts at the end untill the marshall evicted them but they will be back at school tomorrow !!!

thanks to all the various scooby clubs that set up their club displays and to all the convoy leaders who helped in the logistics of getting 400++ scoobys into a field before 11AM .

See you all next year and once again thank you all for your atendance

Lordharding .

The trip from Kent via Blackpool to Lightwater was well worth the trip - the drive there was an experience in itself - Lee thought we were still at the Pleasure Beach on a rollercoaster ;) Looking forward to the next one :D hopefully will drag a few more of the Kentscoobies with us next time :D

cw42 13 June 2004 10:21 PM

A big thanks from the SMACS group, and sorry to all those who followed me into the middle on nowhere as I got lost on the last leg of the convoy from charnock richard m6 services :)
See you all again next year,
chris and the smacs.
ps, thanks for the banner lordharding :)

SUBTYPER 13 June 2004 10:30 PM

Well organised as Usual and big thanks to the events team and all their behind the scenes hard work. Many peoples smiles was down to you guys. I hope the organises and all the helpers will help me with the Dragon Run planned for August Bank holiday and listed already started on northern Forum

nigel cotton 13 June 2004 10:33 PM

Nice one first visit and will definatly go again next year. My 3 boys really liked the girls there and managed a photo with them. Cant believe the footy

DJ140 14 June 2004 08:59 AM

Great day out and lost the kids in the park for 5 hours, result.

Thanks to all the people who aranaged the event, we will be there next year to support you and Cancer research.

What was that woman doing revving the Scoob near the stalls, for around half an hour? Clearly quite mad and should have been stopped, whoever she was. Felt sorry for the family in the car next door trying to enjoy their picnic.

Now where's my Scoobyclinic prize gone! See you soon guys.

Dan

Dream Weaver 14 June 2004 09:11 AM

Good fun. :)

Anyone else see the three OAP's having a picnic next to their 1.4 Astra? Parked right in the middle of the field between some Scoob's :D

Cheers all, nice to meet some folk for the first time, flat4, scooby-si etc :)

And thanks to Craft for the route there and back, though I nearly lost my sump coming back on that bloody dip :(

I nearly lost my McDonalds breakfast.

Was a great day, thanks to all involved.

Many thanks to Lord Harding and his team for making this the biggest and best Scooby event of the year, and well done in raising so much for a well deserved cause.

Didn't manage to meet as many people as I hoped, but thanks to the S.Yorks/Midlands/200+ gang for the meet-up with WYIOC to form one hell of a convoy. With 44, were we the biggest  and again as mentioned elsewhere, apologies for my late arrival. As organisor of the meet-up it was improper and won't happen next year :(

Echo the coments on the plebs doughnutting at the end

Roll on next year :D

SiDHEaD 14 June 2004 11:12 AM

Top day. Thanks to everyone involved!!!

Andy

flat4 14 June 2004 11:17 AM

i had great time again, name tags next year then? ;):D

lordharding 14 June 2004 01:11 PM

Name tags

mmm

yeah keeps on cropping up that suggestion .

although when the judges looked around the cars 40% had not put the user name on the back and displayed it on the dashboard !!!!

some didnt know we were looking for donations and thanks to the few who only had £20 notes so it all went to cancer research !!!

Scoobychick 14 June 2004 01:25 PM

We didn't get one  Was it because we were in 'scumbag corner' with the rest of the non-scoobies? ;) ;) ;)

Name tags - make it a condition of entry ;) Was nice to meet a few new faces but wished it could've been more.

Yeah, how come they got to mix it with the scoobs and we didn't? ;) LOL :D

flat4 14 June 2004 01:34 PM

BTW i was the one walking around with no shoes on looking rather ill :(

...and i lost my sunglasses (hope the new owner looks after them carefully :p)

great day all round :D

lordharding 14 June 2004 01:55 PM

Yeah i found a old couple in a fiat tipo getting out a camping stove in the middle of the field !!!

such is the fun of the NBO :D

at 1130 the field was full with 460 cars in and by 1pm the marshalls had to have a rest as they were all there from 830 am!!!#

some scoobys left early and some cars just wandered in for the theme park!!! the odd tipo/astra /suzuki wagon drivers
powers of observations must have been limited :D:D:D so i hope no one drove close to them on the way home :D:D

the <scumbag> corner as you put it although we called it other performance cars was created for those who wanted to join in with us and pay the £5 donation to charity rather than park in the free Lightwater valley car park .
some very interesting cars in that corner and that will be devolped more for next year.

The main reasons we wanted only scoobys in the middle was for BAH the offical club photographer to take some super pictures from the platform which was paid for by Japanese performance magazine.

cw42 14 June 2004 04:48 PM

Did BAH manage to get all the scoobys in this time john? Last years photo had loads missing off the sides :)
Any idea when the photo will be ready?
chris.

lordharding 14 June 2004 06:30 PM

BAH is working as fast as he can as like me he has no life outside the NBO .

RR 14 June 2004 07:09 PM

Myself and a few pals with Ibiza cupra 20v turbo's popped along (cheers Ninnybobs AkA Martin for asking Gav, and we tagged along as well) we were in scumbag corner (I think). After talking to the other boys i thought i would just say well done on a great day we really enjoyed ourselves. The weather was great ask my sunburn and we had a good time being scooby novices with limited knowledge trying to tell the diff models apart etc before popping around the boot for any tell tale give aways. We never spotted any scoobs doing silly things or any other cars, we heard the car revving with the dump valve but even though it was a pain it never spoiled our day in anyway. Had a nice chat with Martin and a really good chat with the guy from TSL about chargecoolers. Were glad to hear you made a fantastic sum of money for charity, and the day was a real credit to the organisers and Subaru owners in General. Many thanks.

Wheres the after sun my slap head is killing.
