speakers in my 04 sti
 

hi can anyone tell me what size speakers are in my 04 sti i want to upgrade them but dont want to take the door panel off to many times in case of damage, also if anyone as done this can you recomend any good speakers direct fit if poss and would i be best to change the tweeters as well plz help guys or gals ;)

Have a look at the FAQ as that has some info on the 03 WRX which is the same. Basically you need 6" - 6 1/2" speakers and a mounting collar. You will have to replace the tweeter unless you get co-axial speakers, but components will give better sound staging.

Infinity 605CS's are 6.5" with seperate tweeters and will go right in but you need a spacer so they dont catch on the window, you can make an MDF one or i think you can get a plastic one from halfords for a corsa which fits also.....

Infinity 4002i's in the rear are 4" speaker and they go in with no mods at all, using the spacer that comes with them..

Still running of standard head unit with no amps, not one for huge sounds just wanted a decent speeker upgrade that didint vibrate....

I got mine from a local dealer for a similar price..

The standard 04 STi are 13cm speakers.

I replaced mine with pioneer "accelerate" 13cm speakers and tweeters; also had the doors fully sound deadened for about £120.

Made a world of difference, even with the "poor" subaru head unit!
