VAT question on imports
 

I'm buying a Nissan Figaro for my dad direct from a dealer in Japan. Does anyone know what we'll have to pay in import duty and VAT?

You have to pay 10% import duty on the cost of the car and shipping and then 17.5% vat on top of all that. You have to pay vat on the import duty. it stinks but there you have it.
