Sti v3 Facelift gasket sets? Where from??
 

Getting ready for the head gasket change to fix my coolant problem So......
Where to buy the best gaskets from, any ideas on uprated ones or am i best to stick with genuine Sti set?

Advice needed please from the experts!

Im running the uprated ones from GGR. Cant remember make.

Custom, they arn't listed on their web except they list'composite', are they the ones?
Pavlo, I feel the same, but where do you get those from?
Need to find a source who know what is needed and sell the real thing.
Can I get the heads off without removing the engine?

Someone well known told me not to bother with uprated headgaskets, when I looked at a GB fo the US STi engines. Was told to use standard gaskets.

Mark, going the STi way. API David sorting out for me.
Wish I could be sure that they had actually gone! I have the coolant blowing out of the system after a really hard hill climb, not on the road, just the hills....

Your coolant only blows out on hills, not on roads, that's clever - must be one of those 'intelligent systems' that manufacturers bang on about :D

Mark A above, re the well known specialist that advised using composite. He told me that too - it's complete skollob. He did that so that he could charge top money without paying proper price for the gaskets........:(

API David, i will be coming down to see you personnally about that comment........
and buy the gaskets off you!
On the hill I pull the full 8000 rpm quite a few times in succession, the gasses build up real quick and then...whoosh, soak all the marshals as I progress up the hill!
Its the build-up I think that gets it so quickly.
Yesterday at Shelsley, the hill is 34 seconds for me (bad) but the coolant just about stays in there, though the bubbling has to be seen to be believed.

I must speak with you soon about an 2.5L engine for the winter, I sprinted my venerable 94 WRX yesterday and it was plagued by a misfire at about 4-5k with 1/2 a tank of fuel. The car was over 2 secs of what it's pace should have been. Does everybody who races on the track suffer with this or is worse on my car ?

Mark, if you have a 1/2 tank then you will be ok with fuel supply.
Did Shelesly this weekend on 1/3 tank and all ok (on that front!)
If the misfire is under full accelleration, could it be the ignition top on one of the plugs breaking down under pressure?
Just a thought.

Yeah, what I don't understand is why it got slightly worsse and only after 4k rpm Might check the spark plug gap.
